Leeuwarden now has a lively atmosphere with many cozy cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy delicious food. When I was growing up there, it was a sleepy provincial town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in recent years, the city has developed into a vibrant center with many activities and events. Leeuwarden was even named European Capital of Culture in 2018, which has contributed much to the growth of tourism and the city's reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are visiting Leeuwarden, there are a number of sights not to be missed. The historic city center is wonderful to stroll through, with its atmospheric streets and beautiful canals. The Fries Museum is a must-visit, with exhibits on Frisian culture and history. The most famous and most discussed item is the sword of \"Grutte Pier\". The Princessehof Ceramics Museum is also worth a visit, at least if you like ceramics. In any case, it has a very extensive collection of ceramics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you like good food, you certainly won't be disappointed in Leeuwarden. The city has a wide range of restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy both local and international dishes. Be sure to try a typical Frisian delicacy, such as sugar bread or a piece of Frisian nail cheese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In short, today Leeuwarden is a city that has a lot to offer. Whether you are interested in history, culture, nature or just want to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, it all works here. The development that Leeuwarden has gone through is truly impressive.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vlak bij ons huis was het Doctor Zamenhofpark. Het park is vernoemd naar dokter Zamenhof, de bedenker van de taal Esperanto. Het park is een mooie groene omgeving met grasvelden, bomen en bloemen. The school no longer exists. On August 1, 1993, the Christelijke Technische School (LTS), the Marnix School (LEAO), the Prinses Marijkeschool (LHNO), the Groen van Prinstererschool (MAVO), the Tjerk Wallesschool (MAVO), the Willem Frederikschool (MAVO) and the Lienward College (HAVO\/VWO) merged to form C.S.G.
